Setting States before meetings, sessions etc.
When Dee Berridge and I were first training Clean Language in 1997 we applied the metaphor landscapes all over the place. One surprisingly effective way we used it was in setting states before working together to help get an outcome for the event and to work out how best to support one another, given how different we were.
The process has been refined over the years and now is an integral Training Attention Model used before any piece of work we do.
We'd like to share it with you and to find out of you find it as useful as we do (suitably referenced please)
A - if this (meeting, project, day ....) were to be perfect, it will be like what?
Use clean questions to expand their answer and ensure you have a model for how they want it
A - for the (meeting, project, day ....) to be like that and for you to be working at your best, you'd like to be like what?
Use clean questions to expand their answer and ensure you have a model for how they want to be.
A - how can I support you to be ...... and the day to be like ......
Use clean questions to expand their answer and ensure you have a model for how they want you to be.
B then does the same for A.
We've tried it in many formats and this is the one we decided to publish. It works for meetings and I use it regularly with groups who have no experience of clean language at all.
Hope its useful

Flow
That’s great
The work we are doing at Holigral is demanding and I regularly do meditation. Our aim in a session is to gain systems rapport with the client. Something I regularly achieve, but not consistently – yet. That state when you intuitively know the next question, the client knows the next question and when you get it wrong the client either comes out of flow or answers the right question anyway (not the question you asked).<O

I will let you know the results, thanks for that Caitlin<O
