    Logging in

In order to post messages anywhere except the Guest Questions forum, you will need to log in.

If you do not have a username and password yet, you need to Register first - click on the Register link at the top of the page.

If you have lost or forgotten your password, please read Lost passwords .

 To log in, use the small form at the TOP RIGHT of most pages. Enter your username and password, and click "Log in". Alternatively you may click the link at the top .

You will now be able to post and reply to messages, change your profile, check private messages, etc.

 To log out of the board, click "Log out [<your username> ]" at the top of any page.

We do recommend that you log out of the discussion board at the end of a session or at least close all browsers which are connected to cleanforum.com. If you stay logged in and move away from your computer, others could use your still logged-in status to post messages posing as you.

    Default Automatic log out

    "I've been logged out"

After some minutes of inactivity, you will be automatically logged out to minimise load on the server and for security reasons.

So when you have been typing a very long post, you may find that you have been logged out when you come to Submit it. It's okay though - your message should still be in the memory of your computer (see "Posting long messages" below). Follow the steps below to log on again and re-submit your message.

    Step 1
Log in again - the system will probably offer you the Login page or you can click on the Login link as before.

    Step 2
Once you are logged in again, click the Back or Previous button on your browser a few times until you are back at the editing page where you were writing your message

    Step 3
Click on Submit again - this time the Submit button should work normally and you will see a confirmation screen.

    Posting long messages

To be on the safe side, we suggest that, when you are writing a long message, you select the text (Ctrl+A inside the editing box) and copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) every few minutes.

Better still, write the message in a word processor so that you can save it, then select, copy and paste the text into the post when it is complete.

Currently, text pasted from word-processors loses its formatting, so if you want colour, bold, underline, etc, do it after you have pasted the text into the message editing page.

 Select the relevant text in the editing box and use the formatting buttons above it to change the format.
