I find a lot of things welling up. I want to shout
- I know what you should do, leave that idiot, stop drinking and start eating proper food - You're fat because you eat 3 times as much as you need to, its hardly rocket science - you're miserable because you're an idiot and are making stupid choices - you've got more than 99 % of the world's population and you're still not happy? Give it all away, leave your job, donate your house to charity then work your way out of that. Then you'll have less time to mang on at me about how unfulfilled you feel!
Phew - thats a little better

I find this interesting as I am noticing that my personal experience with clean has been a wonderful swimming in the mist - as if there are these sounds and ideas and views that live on the periphory of the mist and the mist somehow allows me to experience a deep internal connection to an innerlife teaming with, well ... with fish. Large, small, young, old, filling the oceans and all somehow wonderfully working in unison, ecologically freindly. The water is cool and dark. The mist floats over the water as I slowly float on my back and swim slowly and gently, listening exquisitly, remembering easily and enjoying thouroghly.

Hmmm. Thats nice.

I’m looking at trying a few ideas around practising Emergence work, which is different to the practising manual I’ve seen form Catlin and the Developing Group.

The second meeting this week was smaller several people having other commitments. However we practise spacework. One thing that has come up in the different practise groups I’ve worked with using Emergence is the need to keep it light. Keeping to the 3’s (repeating questions in 3’s rather than 6’s) is closer to coaching and doesn’t go deep and in to therapy.
Its to easy to go deep and find you are leaving the client hanging when its really about the practitioner not the client. :(

Next meeting in 2 weeks in Somerset.

One of David Grove's areas of interest has been around pronouns for I; that is, different words that stand for 'I' in the language that people use. Examples are 'me', 'myself', 'mine', 'my'.

Not sure where his interest came from - maybe from a curiosity about the odd things that people say like 'I should value myself more' or 'if it were up to me, I would...' ?

In David's current work, there is a process where different pronouns are assumed to have different perceptual positions or to be different perceivers.

Thus it is possible to ask of the statement: 'I want to value myself', the question 'And when I wants to value myself, what would myself like to have happen?'

This forces the I and myself to become separate symbols and presupposes that the myself can have a want.

As a client, such questions that try to split out my personal pronouns are irritating and not at all clean. I have just one entity and all the pronouns (including 'I') are labels for that entity that get used in different situations.

I wonder if a pronoun label describes relationship to the entity? So 'my' means 'of this entity'. Or it may describe a perceptual positioning relative to the entity.

'Me' and 'myself' both mean 'the entity as the object of a sentence or the Perceived'. 'I value myself' is the entity being reflexive - it is both the Perceiver and the Perceived.

So in this Phil-entity's world, multiplicity of perceptions or perspectives comes, not from multiple entities each having single perceptions, but a single entity having multiple perceptions.
