Perhaps from and about go together in these questions. 'From here' implies a relationship between 'here' and some other space/time/symbol. 'About' is the other end of the relationship started by 'from'. The '...' is the space/time/symbol at the other end of the relationship, where the attention is being directed:
"this space"/"you" from...about  other space/time/symbol.
Another way to think of it is to treat the 'from/about' relationship in the same way as a 'from/'to' or 'away from/towards' relationship.
Thus one might ask either:
"<FONT color=#800000>What do you know here?</FONT>"
or
"<FONT color=#800000>What does this space know?</FONT>"
to direct attention to 'knowing' that may be about space/time/symbol ANYWHERE, and
"<FONT color=#800000>What do you know from here about...?</FONT>"
or
"<FONT color=#800000>What does this space know about...?</FONT>"
to direct attention to 'knowing' that is about some SPECIFIC space/time/symbol. This could include 'here' as in "What do you know from here about here?"

"From here" is more powerful than just here because it implies that new knowledge is available.
If used preceded by you it implies you have new knowledge that was not previously available and that maybe in another space other knowledge will be available.
Equally the use of "this space" - as in what does this space know - has a similar effect by specifying the particular space the client is occupying rather than the generic space that client is working in.
"What do you know here" is liable to have the reply "What I knew there"
