When its working just the way I like it to, clean forum is like a BBQ
Its the Grill in the centre of a large beautiful landscape. People bring their own favourite foods to grill.
There'll be separate areas for meat/fish/vegetarian but every contribution is valued because it adds to the ambience.
Everyone at the party wants others to enjoy their food.
Some people put loads of time and effort into their contribution, bring marinated kebabs etc
Others are very convivial and bring their company more than their food.
Some bring a packet of lamb chops and others use their marinades to spice things up
Some become known as the person who'll always bring a great salad.
Phil runs around in an apron, coordinates the food, asks some people to put their contributions in the fridge so it doesn't go off. Explains to some that you can't grill your fish on the vege grill or you'll ruin it for others
Rings around people who haven't arrived yet to say "We're short of mushrooms" or "Can you grab a pack of cold beers on your way"
When everyone has their attention on their own food and on the needs of the group the party is huge, complex and great fun with hardly anyone having to do too much of the work.
Its an emergent party. x
