Whirlygig
Shaun Hotchkiss would like to make a bid on the whirlygig in France - is anyone else interested in purchasing it? Shaun has offered to transport it back to England and give it a good home and deposit the money into David's fund.

Video equipment
Steve Briggs: "I purchased the video equipment and Glidecam stabilization system. David brought the video camera with him when he came to Kansas City, so it has been returned, but the Glidecam stabilization system is still missing. Rob McGavock from Columbia, MO was visiting with David in France and thinks that the Glidecam equipment may be there. Since most people would not know what Glidecam equipment is, I have attached photos 3 of the missing items to this message."

Soft Brown Leather Jacket - owner unknown - Steven Briggs has in Kansas City. Rob thought it may belong to someone in France who loaned it to David.

David told me about three whirligigs that he owned. We did two significant pieces of work--the first on the whirligig in Missouri which he used at the Columbia intensive and then brought to St. Louis for Donna Kitchen's retreat time.
David knew the 3 dimension whirligig was essential for me--that's why he invited me to Normandy, where we worked together on days before and after the November salon.
He said the 3rd whirligig was in England. I mention all this because David was refining his use of it, even as we worked together in France. He slowed things down considerably from his early use, and sometimes did 6 iterations as needed for the space. Both times David aligned the inner and outer suns so that I experienced sunrise, day, sunset, and night in the 360 rotation. A stunning wonderment--typical David.

I had what I think was the first whirligig in a house I lent David called the Thatched Cottage in the summer of 2005. I attach a photo I took in case you haven’t seen it. What I like about this picture is that you can see he is having a moment of true happiness, all the worries flown away for the moment. He was really enjoying himself that day and fun to be with.
David and I planned to write a book (as he did with quite a few others, I think) and I intend to go ahead and do it anyway, although not for a while yet as I have some decks to clear first. I would be very happy for any notes etc that anyone cares to send me.
Warmest wishes

This should still be at Jennifer de Gandts, as well as the projector and ancillary equipment (extra hard-drive etc.)

As Carol mentioned, the whirligig foray came to hers - I picked it up from the depths of Wales one day, from a man using it for fairground rides. He was very bemused when I tried to explain what it was for!
When I brought it back, DG initially seemed to show no interest in it, instructing me to go out with an unsuspecting volunteer and start questioning using the spinning questions. A few powerful insights and experiences later and DG finally ventured outside and declared it worth pursuing.
It was then used in a workshop run by him and Carol before it went to Hull and Glastonbury. Shaun and I did a lot of work with it in both places, spending many hours slowly rotating people through all kinds of journeys!
It then had another 2 degrees added (a third ring) to give it the full 6 degrees and the seat was patched up before it went to France and then back in time for the NLP Conference (where he famously broke the barrier of the car park with the height of the thing!).
I believe it then wintered in Glastonbury until DG came back to UK again. Then, in Glastonbury, a lightweight indoor Whirligig was built. This was quite complex to assemble and I'm not sure if those pieces are still around... Perhaps Steve Saunders knows? Might be worth pursuing that idea?
Anyway, I mention this both for those interested in its early history and also because I would like to endorse Shaun's request to be the guardian of the machine. David said he trusted few to really use it properly but Shaun was one whom he did because he had developed his experience, sensitivity and knowledge around it by working closely with DG on it. I'm delighted that Shaun has offered to be its proprietor and believe it to be an excellent and appropriate solution.
Thank you all for continuing to share your experiences with David and and with his work.
Warm wishes
Deborah

David left a load of stuff in Glastonbury, as Catlin knows Steve was asking for it to be removed. Before David drove to France last year (in the Volvo) he stopped in Glastonbury for a few hours.
There was little of value in Glastonbury, tools, high-pressure jump suit, software programs and the light whirlgig. The light whirlgig was a right off, being that we never quite got a workable model, it was too light and flexible, and left out to the elements and rusting.

I have one computer here in Glastonbury. David and myself had started to use an online program, using Emergence in this medium, something I’m still working on and would like to retain this computer to continue.
There are a couple more at Catlins I believe, it will be difficult to make much money selling the computers, as they are older models, they are capable of working independently and run Windows Xp.

The whirlygig, the one Deborah is talking of, is at Jennifer's, the hang-up's is at Shaun and Caitlin's. David worked with John F on a nine-degrees of freedom version, it could go up and down as well.

9 degrees? I make that 8... or am I missing a degree? (actually I am but that's another story) Pitch, roll, yaw, elevation = 8. I suppose if you tow it along behind a car that would be 9 in that the reverse direction is out of your control as client.

David and Matthew did collect all his stuff from Glastonbury, apart from the unworkable "light" whirlygig which he then instructed us to dispose of.
I have been given a grant to build a new "light whirlygig" - transportable, collapsible, robust, and particularly, safe, both to operate and be in. It will be called "David", of course.
Big people had a tendency to slip out of the old whirlygig when upside-down - being the initial volunteer I have personal experience of this!
Shaun - I'm very happy to share learnings re spinning and whirlygigs.
Really, the gig needs to be inside a structure, in a customisable room tending on egg-shaped - the "psychlorama" was David's name for this.
The science of why it works lies in complex numbers and the nature of measurement. I'm happy to explain to anyone interested ;-)
We expect to move permanently abroad later this year, so anyone from the UK wishing to learn, play, share please be proactive and contact me: steve@holigral.com

Phil: "9 degrees? I make that 8... or am I missing a degree?"
Three space dimensions means that there are three independent directions or axes along which you can move. But if you keep jumping up and down, left and right, back and forth, how would you know you can also be still (3, 6, 9)?

I am writing on behalf of David's family
We are still trying desperately hard to find David’s electronic gear
It is such a mystery, I received the following email from Sylvie in France last night
I was there when David packed his suitcases before he left from Paris
and I helped him put it in the taxi to go to the airport.
so here is the list of things he had with him
a camera Came back to NZ with David’s sister
a video projector Was left with Steve in USA
a G5 apple computer and key board (he had just bought a suitcase for it) The empty bag was at Steve’s in the USA – as was the keyboard but not the computer
an Ipod
an Iphone
and an apple laptop. powerbook G...
I also wonder about his Apple airport thing he used a lot??
I am asking that each one of you contact anyone that I may not know of to make enquiries with regard to this equipment it must be found
The data on these computers belonged to David and now it belongs to
his heirs - his mother and father.
PLEASE help us to find this equipment

Thank you for your patience with me as I searched for it
There are are still some things outstading like Steve Brigg's video equipment and the Nexus bio feedback equipent
Any help with those would be so appreciated
But the good news is that the laptop is found

Hi Dafanie,
I asked about the Nexus at dinner in Tauranga, and Caitlin was sure it was at Steven's. Also I would like to know what research he did with it so far, and who would be able to continue it. I know the company he bought it from, since I contacted them for him, so may-be they're the only ones who know how to go about it.

Hi Corrie, Caitlin, Dafanie,
David did leave some of the Nexus here until he collected the final parts last November when he passed through with Matthew on the way to France.
I'm assuming by Nexus you mean the polygraph kit?
cheers

I only saw him wire up people a few times, but:
1. The software was on a PC laptop, not the apple laptop: the pc had a plug-in card with adaptors for the hardware.
2. He wired people both during emergence and whirlygig emergence.
3. The main aims were to establish physical evidence of:
a) heating in stage 5 (immolation)
b) processing responses as feedback for when to ask the next question (brain activity - electrical activity and skin resistance changes)
c) any other activities that showed physical evidence for change as a result of the emergent facilitation.
I thought he took all the significant Nexus kit in November 06, though, so maybe track it from then; it was mainly the empty boxes and some cables that he collected coming through last November.
cheers

I've found one of David's books: "Turning Point" by Fritjof Kapra. If anyone wants it, then let me know.

Hi Steve,
I'd love to have it. we have a number of his books, still packed from Hull. It's great to flick through the stuff he was flicking through.

The discussion about David's possessions around the world has reduced to a trickle so I have merged all the threads about the subject into one thread here and removed the sub forum on the subject. You can still post on the subject as a reply to this thread.
