In 2005, David tracked the www.emergentknowledge.com (http://www.emergentknowledge.com/) site until the domain name came free, then asked me to buy it. I have always felt I was holding it in trust for him and would like to offer it to the EK community – the various practitioners he worked with as well as me - to display your contact details, offerings, articles, thoughts etc. I have cleaned up the site so that there is no bias towards the Clean organisation I run with Angela Dunbar, and we use www.cleancoaching.com (http://www.cleancoaching.com/) as our commercial site, so there will not be any conflict of interest. I will ensure that the EK site remains neutral in the future.
I offered the site to David’s family earlier this year and they may take over ownership at any time if they wish.
It is not intended to run in any way competitively to www.cleanlanguage.co.uk (http://www.cleanlanguage.co.uk/), which will of course be referenced, but as www.emergentknowledge.com (http://www.emergentknowledge.com) comes up at no. 1 on Google when you search for ‘emergent knowledge’, it seems like a useful place for the EK knowledge to be amassed and combined, and for practitioners to advertise their offerings, particularly with the Clean Conference coming up. David chose the colours and design himself.
If you would like to have a listing, or post an article etc, please feel free to send it to me. Have a look at the site first to see how things are laid out and send ready for me to cut and paste, as I will not be able to put in time in to edit, or to recreate fancy formatting. I can upload visuals as long as they are jpegs and of course I can put links on.
I wish everyone the very best with expanding David’s work.
Warmest wishes
Carol

Dear Carol,

Thank you for taking such good care of David’s heritage (emergentknowledge.com )and guarding his memory from being offended. You are one of his greatest Maecenas, having created the conditions for David to work and experiment. Wasn’t it a lovely summer in 2005, when he stayed at your Thatched Cottage (did anyone make a picture of him swimming in the Thames)? He was very pleased with that and really took good care of it. I remember coming at the door at eight o’clock in the morning, finding David vacuumcleaning (I never imagined him in that role), while the boys were making breakfast. He went out to the gardencentre to buy plants and decorations. When I talked to Betty and Dafanie in January they had fond memories of their stay there, and it was even a refuge for a while to those homeless people James and Penny.
Thank you.

Love,

Corrie

Thanks for posting your memories Corrie. David was astonishingly domesticated and improved the property while he was staying there, looking after the garden, adding new plants and even sorting out the sagging roof over the carport.
The house was available because we were trying to sell it and he went to great efforts to help us with that. A funny thing happened recently when we put our current house on the market (we are restless souls). We had a viewing in the middle of the morning, during the winter, when our log fire was not lit but was made up with logs to look nice. The darn thing will only light when helped by a paraffin log and it goes out as soon as the log is used up.
This time there was no paraffin log in the fireplace and it had not been lit since the night before. Yet when I walked into the lounge with the visitors, there was the biggest, roaring fire in the grate we have ever had. It is just the sort of thing David would do, and a big part of our relationship was about selling the previous house - makes you wonder doesn't it!
