An Introduction to Clean Language and Systemic Modelling by Caitlin Walker
A mini course comprising 2 DVDs and a workbook introducing the use of Clean Language questions in Systemic Modelling.
available at www.trainingattention.co.uk (http://www.trainingattention.co.uk/)
One of David Grove’s highest and strongest principles is that a therapist must be an equal opportunities employer of the information contained in a client’s metaphor. However, we are all prone to biases and delete and distort all kinds of information our client’s present to us.
Systemic Modelling is the art of knowing our own biases, and accounting for them in order to improve the attention we can pay to the different aspects that a client presents.
This product is about modelling yourself in order to better model others. The DVD and workbook help you to recognise and understand your own patterns, as well as helping you detect patterns in others. These are essential skills for anyone involved in David Grove’s work.
Over 10 years, Caitlin Walker has applied ‘Clean’ approaches in a variety of settings, including work with disaffected teenagers, senior management, team building, recruitment and retention, diversity training, helping long term unemployed into sustainable work, to name but a few. In that time, Caitlin has modelled out the practical skills needed by a facilitator to apply Clean Language processes successfully in both 1-1 work and group settings.
This DVD set is the distillation of Caitlin’s experience so far. It presents simple exercises for personal awareness and skill development, and for the practice of Clean Language and Systemic Modelling in any group setting – on trainings, in schools, business teams, communities - or just for fun.
The DVDs lead you through a series of topics delivered to a diverse group on an introductory training.
DVD 1 provides background explanation, demonstrations of each exercise, and offers some practical applications.
Exercises include
¾ Clean Set-up
¾ Learning at your best
¾ The five senses – detecting patterns
¾ Clean Questions
¾ Modelling time – past, present and future
¾ Clean start – using space to think
¾ How do you become …. – modelling negative states
¾ Modelling an outcome
¾ Circles of excellence – modelling positive states
¾ Clean feedback – giving and receiving
Disc 2 presents live footage from a two-day workshop facilitated by Caitlin, where you can see participants learning and using the exercises. A manual explaining how to use and teach the exercises is included so that you can begin practising with colleagues, client groups, or friends.
The DVDs are an expression of joy and diversity; an attempt to live in the present with the knowledge that we can consciously know only the very tip of what is available in any interaction. They offer methodology for bridging the gaps between people with minimal cost to their systems. They are dedicated to the memory of David Grove, without whom none of this would have been possible.
