A shock to learn, rather belatedly that David has passed. He was so alive that it's shocking to imagine for a second that he is dead. He was an amazing and complex mix of humanity with an extraordinary touch and a great host too; I shall never forget the serious and frivolous conversations in his hot-tub in Auckland in 2005 and the special nature of the hospitality in their household. I am quite sure he would have shocked us with some other brilliance amongst the explorations of his intangibles and tangibles in the years to come and can’t help thinking we have been robbed of that next step. He has made a great and valuable impact, coded and explored by the diligence and nerve of Penny and James and leaves a lasting legacy amongst our clients, touching so many who never knew him or knew his name.
