We thought that there were perhaps a number of groups of people who are unable to make it to New Zealand but who want to be part of David's funeral.
An idea we've had is that some people may want to offer their homes
as places where people can meet, mourn and celebrate this man, his work,
life and laughter.
For those in the UK, there is an invitation to bring your metaphors/memories to Finchley in North London. This is a home in which David came to teach and which has hosted all sorts of events based on his work.
This is from 2-5pm on Saturday 19th of January
If you want to offer your place to other groups who can't travel this far
please post your area and invitation on the forum.
Then we can post photos, stories, songs etc onto the forum and watch the wake emerge around the world.

Hello Caitlin,
We had a similar idea all over the channel : organising an evening in Paris.
It should have been on friday evening at 8.30 (Paris time) in Silvie de Clerck's floor, silmutaneously with the welcome service in New Zealand.
But Silvie has just decided to fly over to New Zealand. So, I am looking for another place. I'll inform the cleanforum as soon as I have got a secure organisation.

the funeral is being delayed until Monday but since David's timekeeping was sporadic I'm sure he'll be fine if we say goodbye, thank you and goonight at different times all over the world.

Here in the States, most friends/colleagues of his live in the Mid-West, and I, in the Greater DC, am rather isolated. One of David's old clients in the Mid-West now lives in the next state. Though she has just done a surgery, we'll try to do something together. David stayed in her beautiful farm often last year and her farm reminded him of his Retreat Center, Eldon. If anyone lives close to DC, please feel free to contact me.
Donna Kitchen in St. Louis is planning to hold a large memorial in the Mid-West next month.
An old friend/client/colleague of his from the State will be flying to New Zealand. She was with us in Normandy last November.

Keiko,
I enjoyed very much your recounting of David's adventures at the World Bank and in Dupont Circle. I live in NE Washington DC, so I'm close by. I worked with David in Eldon, Missouri, from 1992-1994 and was hoping to do some work again with him later this month in Maryland, alas.
Anyway, if you want to do something here, let me know.
