I was deeply saddened to hear the news of David's sudden death. It is hard to comprehend that his strong presence is no longer with us. How long will it take to believe that he will no longer arrive unannounced the NLP Conference with his whirly gig in tow. It was 2006 when we spent the Saturday night of the Conference trying to find somewhere for him to stay where he could park the whirly gig, having failed to get it into the underground car park at the Royal National Hotel.

David's genius, wit and wisdom will be sorely missed by all those of us who have been inspired over the years by his creativity and innovation. I first met him in 1982 when he was developing his Child Within work and I had the amazing experience of being his demonstration subject for the weekend. With over 100 people in the group, David's style so different then from the laid back armchair approach of his later work. But present, even back then, the intuition and insight and love of language that was the corner stone of his unique work. For me personally, he has been an inspirational teacher and I feel truly privileged to have worked with him over many years and to have been able to consider him my friend. David we miss you.
